What were you doing at the age of 9? For most of us, the answer to that question is probably along the lines of riding bikes, sleepovers with friends, or mastering multiplication and division.
Karolina Protsenko is no average 9-year-old. She is a violinist with a massive following on her YouTube channel and other social media.
Protsenko has been playing the violin since she was six years old, and hopes to “bring a little bit of magic and inspiration to the world” through her music.
It’s safe to say she’s doing that. She has videos on Youtube with over 275,000 views! Not too bad for a girl with a violin!
Protsenko also released her own album in July 2018. She recorded 12 songs including “Fix You” by Coldplay, “Let It Go” from Disney’s Frozen, and the legendary “Somewhere Over The Rainbow”. She’s big-time, too, because her music is available on all major streaming sites including Apple Music, Spotify, and Amazon Prime Music.
On July 28, 2018, a video of Protsenko playing a cover of “Despacito” was posted on YouTube. The best part is that she’s not in a fancy concert hall or at a major promotion, she was simply on the sidewalk playing for the people around her. In fact, on her Facebook page, Protsenko often posts videos of herself playing on street corners, piers, and other humble places (usually with a crowd surrounding her and watching in awe).
She has truly brought her own style to contemporary music. The mixture of classical violin and songs like “Let Me Love You” makes for a uniquely beautiful sound. It’s no surprise that she has developed such a big following.
